Job Summary:
We are seeking a Landfill Scale Clerk responsible for monitoring and assuring special waste is permitted into the Landfill and performing various duties in the operation of the scale house.


Essential Functions:

1. Answer the telephone and field questions, concerns, and complaints from the general public and prepares correspondence to customers
2. Weighs trucks in and out at scale and prepares tickets
3. Process customer credit cards and balances cash drawer
4. Updates permits
5. Works with specialized scale software
6. Assists with billing and bookkeeping duties as needed
7. Performs general clerical duties, e.g. typing, filing, delivering mail, data entry, and photocopying
8. Maintains appointment scheduled and makes adjustments
9. Responsible for securing offices and equipment at the end of each business day
10. Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances
11. Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
12. Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aid as required or needed
13. Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. High school diploma; or other equivalent
2. Two (2) years of office or other relevant experience preferred
3. Valid driver's license required or attainable within 30 days of hire
4. Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
6. Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
