We are currently searching for a Landfill Operator that will support our facilities maintenance and Environmental Department, at the Dierks, Arkansas Lumber Facility. This is an hourly production role that will report to the site's Filing and Facilities Supervisor. The rate of pay for this role is $25.30/hr per the site's collective bargaining agreement. The schedule is five, eight-hour shifts from Tuesday to Saturday. As the Landfill Operator, you will be responsible for operating the site's box truck, which transports all residuals to the landfill. The operator is also responsible for maintaining site grounds by using other heavy equipment and meeting the needs of Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) standards. The successful candidate will also have to complete and maintain EPA Method 9 certification for reading opacity from emissions. Key Functions: Maintain landfill. This includes tracking waste and waste screening, performing inspections, and maintaining the Master certification of Solid Waste Licensing issued by ADEQ. The main goal is keeping the permitted landfill in compliance with all regulations and conditions of the permit issued by ADEQ. Operate the Dozer. Spread out loads at the landfill. Operate the Box Truck. Dump boxes in designated areas (landfill, old site, etc.) and keep records of everything dumped. Must be able to determine where something needs to be dumped. Perform "waste screening" on every load. Operate the Farm Tractor. Mow / bush hog areas needed (mainly at landfill and old site near outfalls). Operate the Front-End Loader. Use anywhere needed (at landfill to move around material, clean out bark separators, etc.) Operate lawn equipment as needed. Be DOT trained. Stay up to date on DOT training to help as needed during fuel deliveries. Become certified in EPA Method 9 for reading opacity. The air permit requires a person to be trained at least once to read opacity. Help Environmental Manager with random items such as water sampling, inspections, etc. Other duties as assigned or required.
