Lamesa ISD is seeking a passionate, student-centered educational leader to serve as the next Assistant Principal at Lamesa Middle School. As Assistant Principal, you will work alongside the campus principal to provide instructional leadership, promote academic excellence, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for students and staff. Primary Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of instructional programs.
Support teachers through coaching, feedback, and professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness and student achievement.
Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive campus culture that encourages student growth, responsibility, and success.
Assist with the daily management of campus operations, including student discipline, attendance, safety, and school procedures.
Analyze student performance data to help drive instructional decisions and improve academic outcomes.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and district leaders to strengthen student achievement and campus initiatives.
Support extracurricular programs, student activities, and school events that enrich the middle school experience.
Help ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and accountability standards.
Foster meaningful relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community while serving as a visible and approachable campus leader.
Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas Principal Certificate or other appropriate Texas administrative certification.
Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T-TESS) Appraiser.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of middle school instructional practices and curriculum.
Knowledge of campus leadership, operations, and school improvement processes.
Ability to evaluate instructional effectiveness and support teacher growth.
Experience interpreting student achievement data to inform decision-making.
Effective organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to manage personnel, budgets, and campus resources effectively.
Commitment to creating a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and student success.
