Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Odessa, TX 79765
Duration: 3 Months contract
Pay Rate: $22 - $25/hr on W2
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable laboratory results. This role performs routine laboratory testing with moderate supervision, including analyzing oilfield samples, operating laboratory software (LIMS), troubleshooting equipment, and accurately documenting test data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process oilfield samples in accordance with established procedures.
  • Learn and perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to enter and manage test data.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment remains clean, functional, and properly maintained.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste according to company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain standard turnaround times while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Quality initiatives.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies.
  • Complete and maintain all required safety training.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet operational goals.
  • Ensure all testing results and job deliverables are accurate and completed on time.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 2 years of relevant laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Understanding of safety procedures and quality standards in an industrial environment.
