We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join the healthcare team for a long-term contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, specimen analysis, quality control procedures, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

The Lab Technician will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results that support quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank
  • Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for analysis
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of laboratory results and documentation
  • Follow established quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility protocols
  • Review and validate test results prior to reporting
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
  • Adhere to infection control and laboratory safety standards
  • Support physicians and clinical staff with accurate and timely diagnostic information

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate s or Bachelor s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
  • Current MLT/MT/CLS certification preferred (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 2 years of recent laboratory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in hospital or clinical laboratory settings
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload efficiently
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts if required
