Introduction:
The role involves handling and moving laboratory equipment between two buildings under the guidance of a laboratory manager or supervisor. This position requires the safe and efficient operation of various types of machinery and adherence to safety protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment, up to 70 pounds or more
- Experience operating manual and motorized equipment, such as hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and equipment tracking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Willingness to learn and follow established protocols and procedures
- A valid driver’s license would be advantageous
- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Mover
- Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Additional certifications related to equipment handling
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Move laboratory equipment, such as Audio/RF test chambers and other large test fixtures
- Safely operate manual equipment like hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks
- Push or pull equipment on a pallet jack that may weigh over 300lbs
- Occasionally lift equipment that requires 2 or more people and weighs over 100lbs
- Inspect crate deliveries before opening
- Assist in the set-up and breakdown of projects, as needed
- Connect/Disconnect network, CDA, and power connection from equipment/machines
- Maintain accurate records of equipment movement and maintenance activities
- Wrap pallets to be sent to offsite storage
- Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use
- Follow established protocols for waste disposal and recycling
- Notify laboratory manager or supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
