We provide quality resources in four specialty areas: Information Technology (IT), Clinical Research, Rehabilitation Therapy and Nursing.Job DescriptionJob Summary-The Laboratory Assistant will perform routine laboratory procedures using aseptic technique, in compliance with specifications in all Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Test Procedures used to support testing and release of product.Principal Job Duties-Prepare aseptic and non-aseptic media for other groups within QOPerform Environmental Monitoring in production areasMonitor processes and alert supervisory personnel of known or suspected quality problemsPractice basic aseptic laboratory procedures as per training and SOPsApply Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to assigned workLearn and demonstrate understanding of basic sterilization principlesLearn and comply with regulatory requirements such as USDA, FDA, EUUnderstand and use production schedulesAssist in inventory management of laboratory supplies.QualificationsPhysical Demands/Work Environment:Manual dexterity using hands and fingersSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision workOccasional need to sit, kneel, crouch and climb; reach with hands and armsCapable of lifting 20-50 lbs. routinelyAbility to work flexible hours/shifts/weekends/holidaysAbility to withstand long periods of standing, exposure to temperature variations, disagreeable odors, caustic chemicals, noise, live steamExposure to cleaning agentsUniforms and secondary gowning including masks, latex gloves, and in some areas respirators are required.
