POSITION SUMMARY
The Labor Relations Consultant serves as a trusted advisor on labor and workforce relations, providing expert guidance to leadership on complex labor matters and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that foster positive workplace relationships, resolve labor disputes, and mitigate risks while supporting the organization's goals.
With a strong focus on collaboration, the Labor Relations Consultant partners with leadership to proactively address workforce concerns, conduct investigations, and recommend best practices to promote a fair, legally compliant, and engaged work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field required. Extensive labor relations experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in labor relations, employee relations, or a related area required. At least 3 years of specialized labor relations experience strongly preferred.
Certifications: Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR preferred.
This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can effectively navigate complex labor relations issues and support leadership in fostering a collaborative and compliant workplace environment.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires occasional walking, stooping, and standing. Long periods of sitting are also required. Works with such equipment as computer, fax machine, copier, and printer.

This position reports to the Director of People & Culture.
