The Labor and Employment Paralegal provides comprehensive support to attorneys handling a wide range of employment?related matters, including litigation, counseling, and compliance. This role assists with case management, document preparation, administrative filings, and client communication while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with court and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in labor and employment law practices.

Position Details:
  • Salary: $65,000-$85,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Support attorneys in labor and employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including discovery, pleadings, motions, trial preparation, and settlement support
  • Draft, edit, and format legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and exhibits
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and statutes of limitation
  • Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, review, production, and organization
  • Prepare discovery summaries, chronologies, and deposition binders
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures
  • Prepare and file documents with courts and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, NLRB, state labor agencies)
  • Track administrative deadlines and assist with responses to agency charges and investigations
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and administrative agencies professionally and efficiently
  • Assist with client intake, fact gathering, and maintaining ongoing client communication
  • Support attorneys with employment counsel matters, policies, and compliance documentation
  • Perform legal research as needed
  • Assist with time entry, billing support, and case expense tracking
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with ethical and firm standards
 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, preferably in labor and employment law
  • Strong knowledge of employment law terminology, procedures, and litigation practices
  • Excellent organizational, time?management, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management systems
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paralegal certificate or associate’s/bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with administrative agencies (EEOC, DOL, NLRB)
  • Experience supporting both litigation and employment counseling matters
