A Labor & Delivery Clinical Nurse Coordinator opportunity is available at a 150-bed, accredited regional medical center in Dickson, TN — an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center providing cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, women's services, inpatient rehabilitation, and emergency care across its main and satellite campuses.
The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) functions as the overnight charge nurse and assistant nurse manager for the Labor & Delivery unit, serving as the primary go-to resource for all staffing needs during the night shift. Working in collaboration with the broader nursing management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care across the unit, participates in ongoing quality assessment, and contributes to staff development through involvement in hiring recommendations, performance evaluations, scheduling, and conflict resolution. Clinically, this role requires the ability to independently manage deliveries at the bedside and to scrub in the operating room as needed. The CNC also oversees inventory control, manages supplies and equipment, and drives unit-level engagement initiatives including staff rounding and hourly patient rounds.
