Summary

The Labor Control Manager is responsible for supporting the Labor Department by assisting with functions regarding the staffing and scheduling of necessary and appropriate staff to events, taking on labor coordination assignments both remote and in person, supporting the payroll functions of the labor department, and assisting both Scheduling Managers and Labor Coordinators in developing local talent and resources, and ensuring appropriate labor requirements and established protocols are communicated and followed by project stakeholders.

This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage Labor Coordinator activities and assignments and ensure proper protocols are followed.
  • Follow up with Branch labor coordinators to confirm proper protocols and procedures are being followed.
  • Manage showsite on-call labor and union labor activities.
  • Develop and oversee labor procedures for the branch.
  • Ensure proper labor documentation requirements are communicated and maintained on show site.
  • Ensure labor workbooks are properly coordinated for assigned event.
  • Ensure qualified show personnel are assigned for assigned event.
  • Establish and document best labor practices for each city.
  • Ensure city profiles are with current vendor and union labor rates and jurisdictions.
  • Ensure labor feedback is logged in the appropriate labor database. for all Regional Operations Center events.
  • Recruit and qualify show site talent to add to the Regional Operation Center''s region's union, non- union and part-time labor pool.
  • Approve labor broker invoicing and time sheet as assigned.
  • Review Union and Vendor contracts.
  • Responsible for staffing all positions for assigned events including local labor, union labor, or vendor labor.
  • Acts as labor subject matter expert for assigned cities or regions.
  • Ensures qualified show personnel are secured on assigned events.
  • Assists with event labor budgeting as requested.
  • Assists management in labor relations and contract administration.
  • Assists in ensuring the labor department responsibilities towards the payroll functions are executed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates, tracks and reports on show site labor and union labor activities for assigned events.
  • Responsible for new employee paperwork are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all union and vendor labor hours are reconciled for hours worked / paid and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Acts as event in person labor coordinator when assigned.
  • Provide headcount, position summary, and other reports as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of relevant labor laws.
  • Minimum 3 years of show operations experience.
  • Labor or staffing coordination experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll systems and methods of payment to employees.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
  • Union experience is required.
  • Working Knowledge of Audio, Video, Lighitng, Rigging and Scenic labor Requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be a self-starter and work in a flexible, fast-paced work environment.
