Job Summary and Qualifications

The Labor & Delivery Manager ensures high quality patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role:

• Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes while ensuring adherence to standards of care. • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a productive manner. • Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach. • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification requirements. • Meet mutually agreed upon performance goals and objectives as listed in the Performance Management Plan. • Establish orientation and annual competency criteria for staff and ensure successful completion. • Demonstrate ability to identify strategic management initiatives. • Respond to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or compact state required. Associates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing preferred. Acute care/hospital nursing leadership experience required. Current Fetal Monitoring certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
