About the Opportunity
Turner Staffing Group is hiring an Onsite Lab Technician to support metallurgical and geotechnical testwork for a mining client. The work will be performed both in Tucson and near Dragoon, Arizona. This project-based role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work, lab environments, and contributing directly to operational improvements in mining.
This is a great opportunity to build skills in metallurgical testing, heap leach operations, and pilot-scale equipment.
What You’ll Do
Set up and operate pilot-scale equipment, including an agglomeration drum
Perform column-scale and bench-scale testwork
Maintain microbial cultures in bioreactors by making media and changing spent culture media
Take routine measurements (pH, Eh, cell counts)
Collect samples from field locations including plant solutions and instrumentation
Maintain a clean, organized, safety-forward workspace
Enter, analyze, and present results using Microsoft Excel
Follow detailed procedures, SOPs, and safety protocols
What We’re Looking For
Some technical experience or education in a STEM field
Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures
Ability to work independently with a scientific, problem-solving mindset
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Previous lab or pilot-scale experience is helpful (we will train on specific methods)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Assignment Length: 12 months with potential extension
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship or relocation available.
