Lab Technician
Job Description
The Lab Technician will work in a production wet laboratory and take responsibility for a wide range of testing and formulation activities, including viscometer testing, thermo/balance measurements, titrations, gel testing, and catalyst evaluation. The role involves preparing and adjusting formulations and batch mixtures, which requires a solid mathematical aptitude and an understanding of solution percentages. This position supports ongoing production quality control and contributes directly to maintaining consistent product performance.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production wet laboratory that supports resin, gel coat, and colorant manufacturing. Initial training lasts approximately 2-3 weeks on first shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., working one-on-one with the Lab Supervisor. Regular schedules operate on three shifts: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (first shift), 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. (second shift), and 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. (third shift). The position requires openness to working any shift, with a primary assignment to one shift but potential movement between shifts as needed, including needs on second shift in Resins and third shift in Colors. Attendance and punctuality are highly valued and managed through a structured attendance system. The facility observes several major holidays, although some operations may require a skeleton crew depending on production demand. The laboratory environment involves strong chemical odors associated with resin production, similar to highly concentrated acetone; most employees report becoming accustomed to the smell after a few weeks. The dress code encourages comfortable, business-appropriate attire such as jeans or khakis, tennis shoes or loafers, and suitable shirts or t-shirts. Safety shoes are required, and safety goggles and lab coats are provided. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.67 - $26.67/hr.
