Position at SBM Management

The Lab Services Supervisor will be responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of laboratory technicians.  The supervisor will be responsible for the proficiency of staff, accurate instrument operation, performance of maintenance and troubleshooting measures, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, assign, supervise, and review daily work of laboratory staff
  • Inspect areas, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with sanitation and OSHA regulations
  • Perform quality and service inspections daily
  • Perform administrative duties such as staff scheduling, reporting, record keeping, budget preparation and new equipment purchases
  • Train and instruct employees in tasks, safety, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Maintain and repair laboratory equipment and fixtures
  • Track equipment and supplies inventory and re-order supplies as needed
  • Provide reports, such as pass down, weekly, or monthly
  • Correct at risk behavior, then report the accidents or incidents to the manager immediately
  • Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Qualifications:

Education and/ or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • One year experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in the operation/use of general hand and power tools, instruments, and testing apparatus common to the electric and instrumentation fields
  • Knowledge to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, PLC ladder logic, etc.
  • Experience in aseptic or GMP-regulated manufacturing

Compensation: $70,400-$71,000 per year
