We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Director to lead and grow a high-performing environmental testing laboratory. This role is responsible for technical oversight, team leadership, regulatory compliance, and ensuring the highest standards of analytical quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Provide overall technical and operational leadership for the environmental chemistry laboratory
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory standards (including QA/QC, certifications, and audits)
Oversee method development, validation, and performance of analytical testing
Manage and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including calibration, troubleshooting, and performance verification
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and control programs
Train, mentor, and develop chemists, analysts, and technicians
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
Review, approve, and validate analytical data and final reports
Collaborate with leadership to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Chemistry (or closely related field) required
(Masters or PhD strongly preferred)
5+ years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting
Strong background in analytical chemistry and environmental testing
Proven experience with laboratory instrumentation (e.g., GC, GC/MS, ICP, ICP-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis, etc.)
Experience with instrument calibration, validation, and maintenance
Knowledge of QA/QC programs, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards
Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring laboratory staff
