The Lab Technician is responsible for accurately weighing and delivering pigments and additives to the manufacturing line according to the production schedule while ensuring all materials meet quality control standards.
Responsibilities
Weigh, deliver, and properly record pigments and additives supplied to the production line.
Perform physical testing of panel samples, including color and/or burnout testing, to confirm compliance with quality standards according to the quality control plan.
Verify calibration of measuring and weighing equipment to ensure accuracy.
Conduct inspections of raw materials including catalysts, fiberglass, fillers, monomers, pigments, resins, and other required materials.
Prepare and document master batch pigments, including white pigment and other MP pigments.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at the end of each shift.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good color vision is required.
Knowledge of pigments and additives used in manufacturing processes is preferred.
Work Conditions
Work is performed inside the facility in an open production area.
The work area is well-lit but not air-conditioned and may be warm during the summer months.
