Role Summary

As Service Manager, you’ll lead the dealership service department to deliver consistent quality repairs, strong customer outcomes, and reliable profitability. You’ll balance shop execution with the administrative controls that keep work moving and customers informed.

Key responsibilities include:
- Drive service sales volume, productivity, and profitability; manage budgets and department objectives
- Ensure repair orders (retail, warranty, and unit prep) are created and processed efficiently
- Oversee scheduling and real-time adjustments to maximize shop flow
- Partner with other departments to execute a coordinated marketing plan
- Recruit, coach, evaluate, and develop technicians and support staff
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and sustain high satisfaction and loyalty

Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification/associate degree preferred)
- 3+ years in a supervisory/manager role within a dealership service department
- Strong time/task management, communication, and customer service skills

Your Daily Rhythm

You’ll start by reviewing the board, checking open estimates, and confirming the day’s priorities with advisors and techs before customers arrive. Mid-morning is spent moving between the counter and the shop—clearing approval bottlenecks, handling a tough comeback conversation, and keeping everyone aligned on timelines. After lunch, you’ll check progress on warranty and unit prep work, update key numbers, and touch base with parts and sales to prevent surprises. The day typically ends with a quick look-ahead: tomorrow’s schedule, any staffing gaps, and the handful of calls that protect trust and keep work flowing.

$72,000 Base Plus Commission. Achieving Target: $115,000 - $120,000. Exceeding Target: $125,000+
