Kitchen Prep Staff
The Kitchen Prep Staff support daily kitchen operations by preparing both hot and cold menu items, maintaining proper food handling and sanitation practices, and ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and ready for service. This position plays a key role in assisting with meal preparation for events and service periods while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Qualifications
- Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold menu items according to standardized recipes and events. specifications.
- Assist with the preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner buffets, and plated meals.
- Oversee and complete prep lists for both hot and cold stations.
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels, communicate supply needs, and assist with ordering as directed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or repair needs promptly to the Executive Chef.
- Operate kitchen equipment (knives, grill, flat top, fryer, etc.) safely and according to instructions.
- Ensure all prepared products are properly wrapped, labeled, and dated.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including inventory counts.
- Support the distribution of food to banquet servers and assist with plate-up and delivery for events.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout and at the end of each shift.
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and small wares.
- Operate and maintain the dish machine and ensure all china, glassware, silverware, and serving equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
- Support the delivery, setup, and breakdown of kitchen equipment for events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service or guest services experience preferred.
- One year certificate from culinary school or comparable experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must have a professional attitude and appearance.
- Must have good eye-hand coordination to work with knives and hot cooking equipment.
- Must maintain good personal hygiene.
- Ability to read and interpret recipes and prep list.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must adhere to local Food Codes.
- Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
- Results oriented individuals with the ability to meet required timelines.
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
- Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff.
Working Conditions
- Location: On Site; Club 19
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as scheduled.
- Availability required for irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels during events.
- Daily lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. up to 10 minutes at a time.
- Constant reaching, standing, walking, and stooping.
- Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
- Position requires walking and standing regularly.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
