After seeing great success in the greater Seattle area, we are looking to expand into California and take the Japanese food market in the Bay Area by storm!


About the Role:
As the kitchen lead, the manager will be tasked with overseeing the production of our onigiri product. Working with both efficiency and purpose is essential to a smooth and timely operation. As the brain and leader of our San Jose kitchen, the manager is essential for ensuring the quality of our product and efficiency of our production process. Managing the tasks and roles of the employees working under you will be pivotal to the success of our growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work with other staff members to ensure the kitchen is set up in a timely manner and ready for production

  2. Lead a small team of like-minded individuals while following the production model established by our Washington team

  3. Work with staff to ensure ingredients and other preparations are complete and ready for following day's production

  4. Ensure the kitchen space is clean and tidy following production

  5. Aid in the development of new flavor ideas that will help propel the business to even greater heights


Requirements:
  1. Current / up-to-date Food Handler's card

  2. Minimum 2 years experience working in a previous leadership role in a kitchen or food production

  3. Ability to accurately ascertain kitchen needs and convey directives to team members

  4. Able to speak and understand English at a working level

  5. Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  6. Able to lift up to 40lbs


Nice to have:

  1. Willingness to adapt and learn as the company grows

  2. Previous experience working with Japanese cuisine

  3. Able to speak and understand Japanese at working level


Reporting Relationship:
Report directly to Ownership / Regional Operations Manager regarding kitchen / production needs
Report directly to Director of Human Resources for employee needs
