The Tavern at Eagle Island is looking for a creative and hard working individual, looking to take control of a kitchen and use their skills to create new dishes, and build a staff around them.

We are a locally own business with three locations located around the Treasure Valley. Our menu features numerous items that utilize the best ingredients that we have to offer, no expense spared. We not only take pride in our menu but also in the level of service that we provide

The job offers as much flexibility as one can ask for in a Kitchen Manager position. You will have the freedom to create your own dishes, you will be heavily involved in the hiring process in order to build your "team", and you will have the ability to not only write out the entire kitchen schedule, but also to write your own schedule.

You will be expected to manage the prep schedules, place the orders for the kitchen, write the kitchen schedule, train and motivate your staff, do quarterly inventory, and communicate with the General Manager with all of the progress, needs, and concerns with the kitchen and the restaurant as a whole.

We are looking for an experienced cook, or line lead, to fill a vacant spot in our kitchen staff and contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant by utilizing high quality ingredients to prepare entrees for our guests.   • Skilled, organized, and creative cook
  • A team player who can follow instructions and help us delight our customers with delicious food from our menu
  • Great communication and organizational skills are paramount.
  • We pride ourselves in our exceptional service, and we expect nothing less from our cooks. Culinary school or previous culinary experience is a plus.
  • Responsibilities of the Kitchen Manager:
  • Maintaining a sanitized and well-organized kitchen
  • Preparing workstations for cooking
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment
  • Checking the quality of the ingredients
  • Cooking ingredients using various techniques
  • Arranging food and ensuring appealing presentation
  • Managing food storage and rotating stock for each station
  • Creating a schedule for the kitchen staff
  • Maintaining inventory and placing orders in order to fulfill the needs of the restaurant
  • Interviewing and hiring candidates to add to our team

Kitchen Manager Job Requirements:

Must have prior experience as a cook

Must be skilled in operating kitchen equipment

Must be skilled in various cooking techniques

Must know and follow sanitation procedures

Must showcase teamwork and communication skills

Must demonstrate great organizational skills.

Must be able to multitask and act quickly

Must be able to to problem solve and make important decisions

There are three tavern restaurants in the Treasure Valley-East Boise, Downtown Boise, and Eagle/Meridian. All of our restaurants offer high quality proteins, seafood, salads and sandwiches. We have extensive wine lists, draft beers, and a great assortment of rare whiskeys and liquors available to our area.

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
