Employment: Full-Time | 10-Month Contract
Reports To: Elementary Principal
Position Summary
Harmony ISD is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered Kindergarten Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging classroom environment where young learners develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This teacher will foster a love of learning while building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the growth of every child.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and use data to guide instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student achievement, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures.
- Collaborate with grade-level teammates, intervention staff, and administrators to support student success.
- Participate in campus and district professional development and required meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with appropriate EC-6 certification.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and elementary instructional best practices.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Kindergarten or other early elementary grades.
- Reading Academy completion or willingness to complete required training.
- Experience implementing differentiated instruction and small-group learning.
