Performance Responsibilities:

• Creates positive and respectful relationships with students, staff, parents, administrators and professional agencies who work on behalf of the student.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret teacher directions and follow through with schedule of instruction.
• Ability to work with individually or with small group to reinforce learning of academic material introduced by the teacher.
• Ability to assist with supervision of individual, small group or whole classroom as needed for emergency drills, safety plans, school assemblies, field trips.
• Ability to be a positive role model and consistently follow through with positive behavioral supports in all educational settings.
• Participates in research-based academic instruction and behavior crisis intervention training as requested.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of licensed teachers and directs family communication to appropriate licensed personnel.
• Willingness to be a team member who is flexible, open to ongoing professional development and can positively accept change on behalf of student or program improvement.
• Additional duties may be assigned based on specific student or classroom need.

Qualification in ONE of the following:

• Completed two years of college 60 hrs.
• Hold a two-year degree
• Pass State ParaPro Exam
