The Burlington County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Keyboarding Clerk. This entry level position involves answering telephones, data entry, filing and other routine clerical tasks.
The successful candidate will possess strong computer (specifically data entry), telephone, organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access required. Familiarity with law enforcement databases is a plus.
Knowledge and Abilities
Under supervision, performs routine, repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions.
Format & enter/type correspondence/documents/reports/charts/other materials on a computer console/typewriter/or other devices used by the agency.
May assist in locating and compiling data needed for reports.
Edits/proofreads/performs spelling/grammar checks to ensure accuracy.
Operates varied types of office machines and equipment including duplicating and adding machines.
When so required, explain details of work to new employees.
Maintains records and files.
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Knowledge of office routines, equipment, and practices.
Ability to comprehend established office routines and department regulations.
Ability to organize assigned clerical work and develop effective work methods.
Completes other related duties as required.
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma and valid New Jersey Driver's License. Position is Monday \u2013 Friday, 35 hours per week.
Salary is $38,348.00 and includes a generous benefits package.
