St. Petersburg Catholic High School seeks a dedicated, energetic, and faith-centered Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach to lead and develop our JV Volleyball program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching the game, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Barons athletic program. This position plays a vital role in preparing student-athletes for future success at the varsity level while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Essential ResponsibilitiesProgram Development
- Plan, organize, and conduct all JV volleyball practices and competitions.
- Teach and develop fundamental volleyball skills, game strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Prepare student-athletes for advancement within the volleyball program.
- Assist in creating a unified program philosophy aligned with the varsity coaching staff.
Student-Athlete Development
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes.
- Promote academic excellence, character development, leadership, and personal responsibility.
- Support the spiritual and mission-driven values of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain consistent communication with student-athletes, parents, athletic administration, and the varsity coaching staff.
- Attend coaches' meetings and athletic department functions as required.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director and varsity coach on scheduling, equipment needs, and program initiatives.
Game & Practice Management
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, travel, and team events.
- Ensure a safe and organized environment at all times.
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities responsibly.
- Follow all school, diocesan, and athletic association policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Previous volleyball coaching experience preferred.
- Playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, skill development, and game strategy.
- Ability to motivate, teach, and connect with high school student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education.
- Successful completion of required background screening and diocesan compliance requirements.

CompensationStipend commensurate with experience and in accordance with St. Petersburg Catholic High School and diocesan guidelines.
