Our Phoenix office serves as a key operational hub supporting field crews, project teams, and customers across the region.We are seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Staff Accountant to support our accounting and operational teams. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to gain hands‑on experience in construction accounting, financial reporting, project support, and business operations.What You'll DoPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments.Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor records.Assist with customer invoicing, progress billings, and accounts receivable activities.Support sales tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting.Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.Partner with operations teams to improve cost tracking and reporting.Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements.QualificationsRequired1–3 years of accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.PreferredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Construction accounting experience.Experience with job costing and project accounting.Familiarity with certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting.Experience with Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, Spectrum, or similar accounting systems.Experience supporting public works or DOT-related projects.Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with occasional visits to yards, warehouses, and project sites.Fast-paced environment supporting multiple active construction projects.Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.Why Join PMI?PMI offers the opportunity to build valuable experience in construction accounting while working with a growing company that values safety, accountability, quality, and teamwork.
