POSITION: Junior/Senior High School Assistant Principal

STARTING DATE: 26/27 School Year

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

SALARY: Based on Experience and SAA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and valid teaching certificate
  • Master's Degree and administrator certificate preferred
  • Previous successful leadership experience
  • Previous successful teaching experience
  • Successful experience as an administrator is preferred

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work successfully and positively with all students to provide them with assistance in meeting their educational needs.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and implement disciplinary intervention steps, including PBIS, and processes with staff, working closely with the administration, meeting with appropriate building staff.
  • Navigate data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Oversee all matters of student attendance and help create monitoring systems.
  • Serve as a resource for building staff, administrators, and families in working with students, creating a positive school climate, and helping students develop a positive self-concept.
  • Skill in human relations which demonstrates sensitivity to needs and concerns of others.
  • Lead ongoing implementation of positive behavior support systems and effective intervention strategies.
  • Assist with communication of information regarding school and district programs, policies and procedures to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate implementation of family involvement as well as school sponsored events. Assists with school-wide and event supervision.
  • Motivate students in a positive direction which will help students to increase individual decision-making and responsibility.
  • Assist with supervision of the arrival and departure of students in order to maximize efficiency and to ensure student safety.
  • Assist with supervision of all extended day academic / athletics activities as needed.
  • Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the principal.
