Position Summary:

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a JuniorSecurity Support Specialist, supporting the Training Directorate (WN) Program AFLCMC/WNR SCARS program in Miamisburg, Ohio. This program focuses on assisting the AF Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) in oversight of National Security Objectives supporting AF interests. 

 

The positions will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. This will be accomplished through active and integrated security operations, processes, mechanisms and performed under the direction of Government security administrator. This support will provide multi-disciplinary security support, including aspects of information security, personnel security, operations security, industrial security, physical security, communications security and anti-terrorism/force protection duties, while also being responsive and flexible to dynamic security situations in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual.

 

Additionally, the candidate will perform analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical advice and security support to classified programs within the assigned organization.
  • Performing duties to manage and maintain Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) level program information, personnel security clearances and physical security requirements of classified facilities.
  • Provide classification guidance and assistance for all Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) programs.
  • Understand counterintelligence threats and trends to help advice division and program assigned personnel.
  • Assist with development of Security Operating Procedures, and other key security documents as directed by the Information Protection (IP) Lead (Activity Security Manager).
  • Provide classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence.
  • Conduct Intrusion Detection System (IDS) monitoring.
  • Coordinate response to Intrusion Detection System (IDS) notifications.
  • Respond to alarms within 5 minutes.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement or facility managers as needed.
  • Prepare, process, and/or review Visitor Certification Request for accuracy and access eligibility.
  • Ensure smooth accessibility is given to our personnel by ensuring visit request/certifications are received timely and accurately by receiving units/organizations.
  • Conduct annual self-inspections, document the self-inspection, and submit to the Security Office a corrective action plan identifying actions to establish compliance.
  • Conduct effective entry and exit inspections along with any other random anti-terrorism measures as directed by unit, installation or higher-level anti-terrorism authority.
  • Assist in maintaining facility access control, to include visitor control/escorting and access badge creation, issuing and tracking.
  • Perform data entry to the Security System database.
  • Maintain databases reflecting receipt, storage, inventory, and disposition of classified information, to include data entry, updates, and generation of reports.
  • Participate in audits of Government classified holdings to ensure proper accountability.
  • Perform inspection, inventory, logging, storage, documentation, transmittal, and internal distribution of classified information received.
  • Establish and maintain security procedures and policies.
  • Assist Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) Facility (SCIF) opening/closing. Assist in accomplishing end-of-duty day security checks.
  • Perform alarms activity where applicable; monitoring, assessing, setting, testing, coordinating maintenance and updating alarm response letters and other associated administrative support.
  • Coordinate unclassified and classified meetings and all associated support requirements to ensure successful execution.
  • Assist with security awareness and education programs, which includes but is not limited to, creating or modifying presentations, brochures or posters; perform verbal, in person security/force protection briefings to individuals or groups, either formally or in ad hoc format.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the Information Protection (IP) Lead.
  • Facilitate Special Access Program (SAP) Facility (SAPF) day- to-day operations.
  • Adhere to applicable laws as well as national, DoD, and other security Special Access Program (SAP) policies and requirements.
  • Provide classification guidance and assistance for all Special Access Program (SAP) programs.

 

 

Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret

Education: HS Diploma 

Years of Experience: 5 years directly related experience

Education: Bachelor's 

Years of experience: 5+ in related field

 

Technical Skills

  • Industrial Security & SAP Oversight - Master implementing the DoD 5205.07 (SAP Security Manuals, Volumes 1-4), the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117), and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) standards
  • SCI & Collateral Management - Direct familiarity with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD 705 for SCIF physical standards, ICD 704 for personnel vetting)
  • Vulnerability & Risk Assessments - Ability to analyze facility layouts, IT architectures, and personnel pipelines to conduct comprehensive security program reviews and hazard assessments

  • Familar with Information Security System) (and/or its replacement system) and be able to interpret eligibility reports and requirements.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian/foreign government personnel and industry partners.
  • High degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, perform duties in a variety of functions supporting the overall program sustainment effort, and possess an understanding of contract support for service-related activities to include quality assurance surveillance.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks using software programs/databases and possess advanced skills to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Office tools such as Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as adapt to and perform tasks in Government- owned databases as needed.
  • Ability to travel within organizations direct area of responsibility.
  • Willing to work a varied shift schedule that include nights and weekends to support 24/7 Operations.
  • Familiarity of duties associated with a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
