Junior Mechanical Product Development Engineer

Picture your week: a hybrid rhythm in Cleveland where some days you’re collaborating in person, other days you’re deep in CAD at home. You join a stand-up, translate a product idea into a parametric model, print or machine a prototype, and head to the lab to evaluate its fit, form, and function. You wrap up by comparing materials for manufacturability and cost—then prep clear notes that both engineers and non-technical stakeholders can act on. Occasional customer or supplier visits keep you close to real-world use—traveling up to 15% of the time.

What you’ll work on

  • Create robust 3D designs and detailed models ready for downstream engineering and production.
  • Build and test prototypes to validate performance and usability; document findings and iterate.
  • Identify, compare, and select materials that meet performance, cost, and manufacturing needs.
  • Produce drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, PTC Creo, or SolidWorks (required).

Work setup & travel

  • Hybrid, Cleveland location.
  • Travel up to 15%.

What you bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering.
  • Experience: 0–2 years in 3D design (internships, projects, or full-time roles).
  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, PTC Creo, or SolidWorks (required).
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings; prior design exposure is a plus.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Core competencies:
    • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, and sound business judgment.
    • Entrepreneurial drive to add value, accelerate growth, and streamline operations.
    • Clear communicator who can translate complex engineering concepts for diverse audiences.
    • Natural leadership aligned with servant leadership values and a commitment to quality.

Proficiency

  • Mechanical Design & Engineering
