Junior Industrial Maintenance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

Picture your afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m. in our Somerset, NJ plant. You gear up with the right PPE, review work orders, and walk the floor of a modern, plant‑based food manufacturing facility. Your focus: keep production running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

What a typical shift looks like

• Start with safety: follow established procedures and lockout/tagout practices; set up for safe, food‑grade work.
• Tackle planned maintenance: complete PMs to extend equipment life and maintain performance.
• Boost uptime: troubleshoot issues and make adjustments that improve condition, throughput, and efficiency.
• Care for the facility: service production assets, building systems, and fire protection equipment.
• Work clean: keep areas orderly and sanitary; leave every job site better than you found it.
• Use the right tools: operate hand and power tools confidently and correctly.
• Document everything: record maintenance history, track operating data, and close work orders accurately.
• Mind the parts room: monitor spare parts/MRO inventory and flag replenishment needs.
• Grow your craft: participate in required training and contribute to committees that drive safety and continuous improvement.

Compensation & schedule

• Pay: $21–$23 per hour, plus full benefits.
• Core schedule: Monday, Wednesday–Saturday, 2:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. (Tuesday and Sunday off).
• During probation: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (if possible).
• Employment type: Direct hire.
• Location: Somerset, NJ.

What you bring

• High school diploma (technical school a plus).
• Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs.
