Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Junior Hydraulics & Stormwater Engineer in Raleigh, NC. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with preparation of engineering and design documents, computations and quantity estimates.
  • Assist with analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Complete job-specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual.
  • Visit project sites for field investigations and other duties to meet project needs.
  • May assist with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • May attend client meetings – days or nights.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.

 

The successful candidate will have:

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of applicable experience.

 

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Familiarity with NCDOT or other state/municipal DOT stormwater/hydraulics design guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer – Drainage and Utilities
  • Experience designing open and closed stormwater conveyance systems
  • Exposure to relevant H&H software (HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD)
  • Exposure to Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), Low Impact Development (LID), and Stormwater Control Measure/BMP design
