Position SummaryThe Junior Electrical Engineer Sustainment supports the lifecycle maintenance, reliability, and performance optimization of electrical systems and equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure systems remain operational, safe, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport rapid resolution of technical problems impacting operationsParticipate in GEMBA issues on released productsMaintain and support systems/products throughout their operational lifecycleAddress aging systems, obsolescence, and end-of-life challengesManage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Orders (ECOs)Implement design updates, retrofits, and upgradesIdentify and manage component obsolescence risksWork with suppliers to find alternate parts or technologiesUpdate maintenance procedures and technical manualsSupport field service teams with technical expertiseImprove maintainability and reduce downtimeWork with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teamsTroubleshoot electrical issues in lab, production, or field environmentsMaintain accurate engineering documentation, technical reports, and test recordsSupport engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)Reduce lifecycle costs through design and process improvementSupport warranty and service-related investigationsEnsure systems comply with regulatory, industry, and safety standardsSupport audits, certifications, and quality reviewsRequiredDegree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field1+ years' experience in an electronics design and manufacturing environmentExposure to CAD or ECAD toolsBasic understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and electronic componentsFamiliarity with electrical schematics and testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope)Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of process optimization techniques.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in team settings and with all levels in the organizationStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.Excellent project management skillsExperience working within an ERP systemAbility to manage multiple activities and identify priorities based on inputsAbility to read an Engineering BOMStrong Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.DesiredKnowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 and J StandardFamiliarity with regulatory or military standards (e.g., MIL-STD, AS9100)Six Sigma or Lean certification#J-18808-Ljbffr
