The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Civil Engineer to support energy transition projects throughout Upstate New York and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will support multiple projects with a focus on stormwater management, grading design, construction oversight, and renewable energy development, including solar and battery energy storage projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, environmental remediation, and due diligence projects within a collaborative consulting environment.
Location: Rochester, Syracuse, or Albany, NY

Essential Job Functions:
Support engineering design for:
Renewable energy projects
Solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
Civil/site development projects
Perform construction monitoring activities
Conduct stormwater compliance inspections
Assist with stormwater management and grading design efforts
Support project teams with technical documentation and project coordination
Participate in limited client communications and coordination efforts
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in:
Civil Engineering, or
Environmental Engineering
1-4 years of professional experience
Proficiency with:
AutoCAD Civil 3D
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ArcGIS
Experience with:
Stormwater management and inspections
Construction oversight
Site development projects
Prior experience supporting:
Solar energy projects
Battery energy storage projects
Renewable energy development in New York State
Familiarity with:
Electrical infrastructure projects
Environmental investigation/remediation
Environmental due diligence projects

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
