Client Overview:
Our client is a non-profit buying cooperative and wholesale distributor that supports independent appliance and electronics retailers. Based in Hamilton, they help local stores compete with large retailers by providing inventory, warehousing, and marketing support to more than 90 retail showrooms throughout the Northeast. They are currently seeking an entry-level Junior Accountant to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr - $24/hr

Position Overview:
The Junior Accountant will support the Accounting team with day-to-day financial tasks, with a focus on accounts receivable and general accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with 1 - 3 years of accounting experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with multiple systems, meeting deadlines, and handling financial data accurately.

Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant:
  • Prepare basic financial reports and assist with account analysis.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
  • Enter, review, and update financial data.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Required Experience/Skills for the Junior Accountant:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems or accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree is required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
