Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the Court Administrator the incumbent performs clerical duties involving court issues as described briefly in the following. Processes daily traffic citations and enters data into computer. Completes citation abstract and mails information to the Motor Vehicle Department. Processes deferred citations. Verifies information on court orders to show "cause" and mails letters. Assists in recording dispositions in the courtroom on an "as needed" basis. Prepares arrest records for morning arraignments and processes final orders judgments and sentences. Performs duties of a cashier clerk. Prepares necessary paperwork on surety and cash bonds verifies cash bond money with receipts and maintains cash bond ledger on a monthly basis. Accepts and posts payments received by mail. Reviews and enters dispositions in the courtroom and updates records for each docket or traffic violation. Schedules DWI school referrals and collects registration fees. Cross trains with other position in the court system. Performs other duties as assigned.

STARTING HOURLY PAY: $15.67 p/h MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) year experience in court case processing legal secretarial or related field such as advanced customer service data processing and/or banking/financial experience. Educational substitution in lieu of experience required: Associates degree in applied science criminal justice paralegal studies or legal studies. Valid driver's license (state of residence). Must meet City's insurability requirements. Other Conditions: Must pass background check PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Notary Public Bilingual
