This is a full-time, on-site role for a Developmental Disability Job Coach located in Colville, Washington. Our Employment Program provides DDA/DVR/FCS (supported employment and community inclusion) services to individuals with disabilities or significant barriers. The work includes possible night shifts, weekends, and holidays to support our DD clients. And driving is a must, agency vehicles are provided and winter driving skills and a clean driving record are required. The program is also responsible for information, outreach and education to residents of Ferry, Lincoln and Stevens Counties related to DD employment work.

Our DD Job Coaches handle intake and assessment of clients supporting the development and creation of a service plan that addresses the individualized goals for each person served. They then ensure the client is assisted to take part in activities in the community related to their interests and supported in their work environment with on-stie assistance and training to meet performance and productivity expectations of their employer. In this work, the Job Coach will also provide other services to clients to help them develop skills and mediate or remove barriers to employment. This roles serves as a liaison with the employer to remedy problem areas in performance and as an intermediary in communicating with families, residential providers, partners and community organizations in support of the client. As a part of the role, the Job Coach will manage paperwork and progress reports related to their client. This role requires flexibility outside the normal work week to meet client needs. 

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.  

• Previous experience working with people in a vulnerable population or who have disabilities. 

• Advanced training in developmental disabilities subject matter (classes, certificate courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.) preferred.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
