Description

A 2nd Shift Equipment Operator's primary role is to operate Reach Trucks and/or Order Pickers (Cherry Pickers) primarily pulling product from locations and staging it to be placed into locations by our "Replenishers". Once an Equipment Operator's tasks are completed for the day, they will then assist in restocking the staged items that have been pulled down by the Reach Truck and Order Picker drivers.

This makes the Equipment Operator position a diverse role that gets to learn multiple jobs and tasks throughout the building, good for someone who enjoys a break in routine and the opportunity to learn various roles.

JDC Equipment Operators are expected to participate in the daily activities and operations of the Journeys Distribution Center.

Expectations are:

Stand, bend, stoop, and walk on concrete and grated floors for the entirety of your shift, lift up to 45lbs. and climb stairs.

Being reliable and consistent with your schedule and work hours.

Must be at least 18 years old

Help keep the warehouse clean and safe.

Utilize a hand-held computer referred to as an "RF Device" for various functions and departments.

Perform multiple tasks within the warehouse that could vary daily, weekly and monthly.

This role offers mandatory overtime during peak season and voluntary time off during slow seasons.

The most common jobs that are performed by our Employees are as follows:

Picking - Pickers follow instructions given to them via a handheld scanning computer and go to various "locations" throughout the warehouse to place product into cartons that are then shipped to customers and stores.

Replenishment - Replenishers refill the locations that Pickers take product from, ensuring there is enough product in each "location" to be able to send out every day.

Receiving - The receiving team work together to unload trailers and organize the boxes of product onto pallets.

Shipping - A shipper's job is to load trailer with product that will be going to our customers and stores.
