Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Java Kafka Engineer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate with experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable event-driven applications, real-time data processing solutions, and cloud-native platforms to meet enterprise business needs.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Kafka Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications using Java, Spring Boot, Confluent Kafka, and Apache Flink.

• Build and optimize real-time data streaming solutions, including Kafka topics, consumer groups, schema management, event processing, and Flink-based analytics workflows.

• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications and services on AWS using Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM.

• Create automation tools, monitoring utilities, and data-processing solutions using Python to support operational efficiency and platform reliability.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, and application monitoring while ensuring high availability, scalability, and system performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize streaming architectures, conduct code reviews, and deliver high-quality enterprise solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 7-13 years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with Java, Kafka, Apache Flink, AWS, and real-time data processing solutions.

• Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Confluent Kafka, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Apache Flink, Microservices Architecture, and event-driven application development.

• Proven experience with AWS cloud services, Python development, CI/CD pipelines, performance testing using JMeter, and designing scalable real-time streaming and analytics platforms.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
