    Description:

    CTG is seeking a Java Engineer (API, Vertex) to join our client’s team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting high-performance backend services using Java, Vert.x, reactive programming, and modern cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and distributed systems.

     

    Location: Phoenix, AZ
    Duration: 12 months

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and support enterprise Java applications and backend services.
    • Build scalable APIs and microservices using Java and Vert.x reactive frameworks.
    • Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
    • Develop asynchronous processing solutions and integrations within distributed environments.
    • Support data ingestion solutions, including Lumi integrations from enterprise databases.
    • Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
    • Apply DevOps practices using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD methodologies.
    • Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 6+ years of experience in Java-based backend development.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Vert.x and reactive programming paradigms.
    • Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
    • Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
    • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
    • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in an Agile environment.
    • Prior Lumi ingestion experience is highly preferred.
    • Prior client experience with data ingestion to Lumi from databases is required.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience developing enterprise applications using Java/JEE technology stacks.
    • Experience with dependency injection, inversion of control, functional programming, test-driven development, and transaction management frameworks.
    • Experience supporting large-scale application integrations and cloud-native solutions.
    • Strong collaboration skills with development, architecture, and business teams.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
