Java Developer

Location: O'Fallon, MO (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and support highly scalable, cloud-ready applications for high-throughput, low-latency transaction processing environments. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate is passionate about building resilient applications, embraces Agile methodologies, and contributes throughout the entire software development lifecycle-from design to production support.

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance Java applications and microservices.

• Translate business and product requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.

• Develop modular, maintainable, and efficient code following SOLID design principles.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and event-driven services using Kafka.

• Design cloud-ready microservices and support distributed application architectures.

• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.

• Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools through prototypes and proof of concepts.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and Operations.

• Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications in production environments.

• Contribute to platform reliability, performance improvements, and operational excellence.

• Support Agile Scrum ceremonies and participate in sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

• Build AI-assisted applications, autonomous or semi-autonomous agents, and agentic workflow systems where applicable.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.

• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.

• Strong knowledge of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases.

• Experience building scalable, cloud-ready enterprise applications.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing.

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.

• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience developing AI-assisted applications or agentic workflow systems.

• Experience with production support, application monitoring, and platform optimization.

• Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
