Java Developer

Systems Integration and Development, Inc. (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in Rockville, MD and is seeking a Java Developer. This is a full-time onsite position based in the Silver Spring, MD area. This is a hybrid role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop new and/or modify production web applications
• Develop application data models and work with existing complex data models and object-relational database mappings.
• Develop application prototypes; develop and maintain application scripts; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems; and adhere to application IT security requirements/tasks.
• Develop & update all documentation for new projects and/or existing projects in an operations & maintenance phase.
• Work collaboratively with teammates on a variety of projects.
• Additional duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of web application development experience with specialization in Java (web and back-end development) and general software development.
• Experience developing and maintaining web applications with any of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Node.js, Python, PHP, Perl, Java, JSPs, Servlets, XML, Web Services (REST,SOAP etc.,)
• Experience working in relational databases.
• Strong understanding and experience of object oriented design using common design patterns and software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Ability to work with and without Java frameworks.
• Ability to work in a process-oriented and deadline-driven environment, and be capable to work independently.
