Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects and programs. Provide written and verbal updates on the status of projects to clients and internal senior management. Present technical results and recommendations to clients. Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts, including survey roadway design and environmental experts, to successfully deliver client projects.
Work with client managers and operational leaders to develop project pursuit strategies and plans. Utilize knowledge and experience conducting and documenting traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practice. Assist engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical results prepared by others.
Support the project team in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
Under the leadership of senior program managers, coordinate and interface with clients to discuss technical elements of the project and present analysis results. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and interns in areas of technical proficiency and consultancy.
Requirements
3 years of relevant work experience Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field EIT with ability to obtain TN PE within 1 year of hire Must possess a U.S. Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Traffic Analysis and Engineering Principles Masters Degree in Transportation Engineering (not required) Experience in one or more of the following areas: • TDOT design standards • ITS design • Traffic operations studies • Intersection conceptual drafting • Safety studies Experience managing large tasks and/or projects Experience with TDOT or NDOT clients and projects Experience in operational and/or safety analysis Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools, including: • VISSIM • Sidra • SynchroSim • Traffic Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles, including: • ITE MUTCD • AASHTO • State DOT requirements, policies, manuals, and procedures
