Description

Overview:

Reports to: Item Processing Officer

 

Functions Supervised: None

 

Primary Functions: Process and balance check transactions, check adjustments, balance shared branching transactions and process shared branching adjustments timely and accurately. Oversee daily operations of the Item Processing department in the absence of management

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform duties assigned to an Item Processing Specialist I, II and III, as necessary.
  2. Understand business continuity of operations plan and participate in planned tests.
  3. Complete relevant training to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, federal and state laws as well as any other applicable rules or regulations.
  4. Complete assigned tasks in accordance with procedures and established deadlines
  5. Participate in professional development opportunities.
  6. Assist in the timely completion of special projects/tasks assigned.
  7. Assist with supervision of staff to ensure accurate completion of all department tasks by established deadlines.
  8. Assist with escalated support requests related to check processing.
  9. Ensure designated custodial accounts are reconciled and corrections are made promptly.
  10. Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports for the department.
  11. Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and workflows; ensure accurate and up to date documentation as changes occur.
  12. Assist with staff training and quality control.
  13. Provide input and support for process improvement, operational efficiencies and automation of department processes or implementation of new technologies.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not applicable.

 

Experience/Skills: Must have the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with members and employees. Familiarity with financial institution operations or payment processing is preferred. The position requires an aptitude for solving problems and working collaboratively with a team. The ability to work with limited supervision, accurately and timely complete assigned tasks and demonstrate good judgment are also required. Must be well organized and able to adapt to new processes, policies and procedures. Must have demonstrated drive to be a leader

 

Tenure: Assignment to the Item Processing Specialist I (Category 15), Item Processing Specialist II (Category 14), Item Processing Specialist III (Category 13) or Senior Item Processing Specialist (Category 12) will be determined by the candidate's education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's certifications and/or performance.

 

 

 

Compensation:

Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the range provided below. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.

Salary Pay Range: 12

: $53,226 - $81,405 annually

Salary Pay Range: 13

: $49,284 - $73,391 annually

Salary Pay Range: 14

: $45,633 - $66,624 annually

Salary Pay Range: 15
