About this Job

The mission of the Secretary of States office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisianas elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisianas operations and its recorded history.

Come join the Elections Operations Technical Support Team and provide frontline IT support and rapid troubleshooting to election staff, ensuring all technical voting systems are operational and compliant.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in information technology; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology; OR

An associates degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology; OR

A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in information technology.

A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NOTE:

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Provide technical support for all elections statewide.

  • Maintain multiple virtual network environments.

  • Train and support end users on all software/hardware.

  • Training and support in GIS.

  • Monitor network attached devices.

  • Maintain compliance of elections and voting laws.

  • Technical support on Election days.

  • Programming and testing for voting equipment.
