Major/Essential Functions

  • Follows established procedures to provide basic service and instruction to faculty/staff/students' computer users.
  • Follows directives communicated by the IT Division or UMC IT.
  • Sets up and configures new equipment/software.
  • Performs diagnostics, preventive maintenance, recommends and performs hardware and software updates as needed, and repairs existing computers and components.
  • Develops and manages departmental servers and shares.
  • Manages departmental inventory of computers and peripherals. Surpluses outdated, unused computers and printers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair OBGYN Dell computers.
  • Coordinates with the IT Division to recover department data on the institutional network servers.
  • Completes the Annual Property Inventory certification with Property Custodian.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
