Join Oakwood Group as an IT Support Specialist

Oakwood Group is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for employee technology support. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving problems, helping users, and ensuring technology runs smoothly across the organization.

As a key member of our Information Technology team, you will provide Tier 1 support for employees across a variety of systems and platforms, helping maintain operational uptime and delivering exceptional customer service. You will troubleshoot issues, support end users, document resolutions, and escalate complex technical problems when needed.

What You'll Do

Technical Support & End User Assistance

  • Serve as the primary Tier 1 contact for IT support requests, incidents, and service tickets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Support user account management, including password resets, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and Azure Active Directory access issues.
  • Assist with Intune-managed devices, including compliance monitoring and application deployment.
  • Diagnose and resolve workstation, operating system, and hardware issues in Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
  • Support wired and wireless connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting.

Security & Systems Support

  • Perform initial review of endpoint security alerts and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Support email security tools, including spam filtering and quarantine management.
  • Assist employees with cybersecurity awareness and training platform support.
  • Escalate network, infrastructure, security, and system-level issues to Tier 2 support teams as needed.

Hardware & Operational Support

  • Support printers, scanners, barcode scanners, and other end-user hardware.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and actions within the IT service management platform.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a high level of customer service in all employee interactions.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT support, help desk, or technical support experience in a corporate environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft 365 applications
    • Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments
    • End-user computing systems
  • Experience supporting Azure Active Directory, including password resets, MFA, and user access requests.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Intune device management.
  • Foundational knowledge of endpoint security and email filtering technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues including Wi-Fi, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
