The Office of Technology Services (OTS) aims to be a responsible partner in delivering innovative, effective, and reliable solutions that support and enhance the IT functions within the Executive Branch Departments. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the States investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering skilled and professional staff.
This mid- to advanced-level engineer position serves within the Office of Technology Services (OTS) - Network Communication Services (NCS) - Core and Data Center (CDC) Network Operations. The incumbent performs professional network engineering duties in support of the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure and associated systems. This role bridges network engineering and supporting infrastructure functions, with a focus on network operations, system visibility, automation, and infrastructure support in addition to traditional Layer 1-4 network operations. Primary responsibilities include support and enhancement of network management, visibility, and automation systems; support of network-supporting infrastructure and platforms; development and maintenance of operational procedures, standard workflows, and automation processes; and ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of tools used to manage and support the statewide network environment. The position routinely coordinates with network engineers and architects, incident response teams, systems teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure network reliability, operational awareness, and effective support across OTS's complex, multi-agency infrastructure.
The Division of Administration is the state government's management arm and the hub of its financial operations. Division offices perform a wide variety of activities including the following:
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
An associates degree in information technology plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus two years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR
A master's degree plus two years of experience in information technology or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Appointment Type: This vacancy will be filled by the promotion of a current, permanent-status Office of Technology Services employee. A permanent status employee may be required to serve a new probationary period in lieu of promotion.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as an IT Statewide Engineer 1, 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
