Kforce's client is looking for a Senior Project Manager for a 9+ month assignment. This position is based in Downtown Phoenix, AZ and may require travel in the Valley (expense reimbursement available). This is a fully on-site position and requires availability for in-person interviews and timely project startup following selection. Summary: This role is responsible for managing capital improvement and infrastructure projects related to municipal water and wastewater systems. The position involves hands-on oversight throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, and construction. Responsibilities include:
  • Managing replacement and rehabilitation projects at water and wastewater facilities and within public rights-of-way
  • Actively participating in project planning, design development, and construction management
  • Developing project scopes, cost estimates, and supporting long-range capital planning efforts
  • Procuring and administering professional services and construction contracts
  • Performing technical reviews of engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinating design and construction activities with internal operations staff, customers, and other public agencies or departments
  • Overseeing projects that may include large-diameter water pipelines, pump stations, storage tanks, reservoirs, pressure-reducing valve stations, wells, sewer mains, manholes, lift stations, and related infrastructure
  • Integrating final construction documentation into asset management and work management systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Arizona is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in civil engineering, architecture, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in water or wastewater engineering design, plan review, inspection, construction, or project management
2+ years of experience managing consultants and contractors on capital improvement or large-scale infrastructure projects, including:
  • Development of scopes of work
  • Review of proposals and payment applications
  • Permitting coordination
  • Review of design and construction drawings
  • Demonstrate strong technical and project management experience in water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Knowledge of engineering principles applicable to municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices used in municipal infrastructure projects

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
