HealthPartners is hiring an IT Security Administrator. The Security Administrator ensures secure, accurate, and compliant access to enterprise systems across clinical, claims, and administrative environments. This role independently processes and tracks access requests, including complex and high‑risk activities such as privileged access, exceptions, and escalations.

Working in a regulated healthcare setting, the Security Administrator plays a key role in protecting sensitive data by enforcing HIPAA, least‑privilege, and internal security standards. This position directly supports business operations by enabling timely system access for care delivery, claims processing, and member and provider services.

The role also supports audit and compliance efforts, responds to access‑related issues, and contributes to process improvements and automation initiatives to strengthen access governance and overall security posture.

This position reports to the Manager, IT Security Administration, and joins a collaborative team of fourteen professionals, including administrators and analysts, focused on safeguarding access and security across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling three (3) years.
  • Foundational knowledge of identity and access management concepts
  • Familiarity with Windows and Unix security administration
  • Strong customer service and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting privileged or elevated account access.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or other highly regulated environments

Hours/Location:

  • M-F; core business hours
  • This position may work remotely; however, local/regional candidates are preferred for occasional onsite needs.

Responsibilities:

  • (35%) - Processes and tracks security administration requests and access changes
  • (20%) - Verifies request authenticity and adherence to security policy.
  • (15%) - Partners with IT teams to provision standard and privileged accounts.
  • (15%) - Provides timely and accurate status reporting to stakeholders.
  • (15%) - Communicates security administration changes that impact end-user support.
