Description

Randstad Technologies is seeking an experienced IT Release Manager for an opportunity in Kansas City, MO. This position is responsible for the development and execution of the enterprise release management life cycle. This person will be responsible for the development of the release management strategy and alignment. This person will also work closely with other teams to develop release schedules and plans, coordinate technology releases into production and ensure the overall quality and effectiveness of the release.

Accountabilities

  • Develops and implement Release Management processes, standards, and key performance indicators
  • Develops training and other communications to ensure IT readiness and capability to execute release processes and procedures
  • Develops templates for deployment and implementation plans
  • Collaborates with project teams and validates that all necessary requirements have been fulfilled
  • Responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves the stages such as scheduling the release, coordinating between teams, and deployment of release as per the schedule
  • Plans the release of technical solutions and release life cycle. Involved with planning, testing, tracking, release, deployment, communication, and risk management
  • Coordinates the release schedule depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates
  • Maintains and coordinates release schedule for IT. Ensuring alignment across Business Solutions Teams.
  • Identifies risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected and prevents unplanned disruption to business operations
  • Participates in Technical Review Board, Change Authorization Board and Critical Incident Review meetings

Requirements:

  • Computer Science Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant professional experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant release management and software delivery lifecycle experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the use of Application Release Automation tools such as ElectricFlow, Puppet Enterprise, Buildmaster, Visual Studio Release Management, or similar platform
  • 5+ years of experience working with customers and project teams to launch successful projects that meet the requirements of the business
  • 5+ years working with DevOps & Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC for both waterfall and agile release management methodologies
  • Demonstrated strength in detailed planning and organizational skills must be very detailed oriented
  • Understanding of various application infrastructures, system architectures, and operating systems (SaaS, Cloud, 3rd Party, Custom developed, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; ability to be clear, concise, and specific
  • Ability to work under pressure and proven ability to meet delivery timelines under tense circumstances
  • Team player with the ability to establish relationships easily
  • Demonstrate confidence in holding resources accountable for assignments

Preferred

  • Experience successfully leading software application development teams and projects
  • Experience leading complex technology programs and projects with significant changes to business and operations
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system
  • Deep understanding of how technical changes impacts business operations
  • ITIL change and configuration management knowledge and experience
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
